Know the Novel Part Three: It Is Written – A Writers Linkup

And just like that it’s December and NANOWRIMO IS OVER WHAAAT. Caffeine has been consumed, sleep has not, and words have been WRITTEN. Now it’s time to discuss the insanity of the month. The third and final part of the Know the Novel linkup is here!

If you missed it, for these last three months of the year, in honor of NaNoWriMo, I’m hosting a linkup geared toward sharing our awesome WIPs and the writing process with our followers.

Who is absolutely shocked we’re already in DECEMBER??? Wow. November was quite the month, and I can imagine all you fellow Wrimos have all sorts of stories to share about the venture. NaNoWriMo or writing a story at any time is always an adventure. I don’t think I’ve ever finished writing a book without walking away without feeling as though I’ve grown in some form or fashion. It is a journey, not just for our characters, but us as well. And that’s what this final linkup is all about—discussing the journey, what we’ve learned, and what comes next!

Read on for all the info!

KNOW THE NOVEL

THE INFO

Know the Novel is a 3-part writers linkup series, one for each of these last three months of the year. This is my second year hosting this and I’m loving it!

Each part features ten questions you can answer on your own blog (or anywhere else on social media, if you’d like!). The questions focus on different parts of your novel and how the writing is going.

The linkups go as followed:

OCTOBER

  • Part One: Introduction – These questions were centered on you telling us about your novel and sharing allll the fun, juicy details. And did you ever! You can find everyone’s links HERE! (Sooo many delicious story ideas!)

NOVEMBER

  • Part Two: Within the WIPLast month we all talked about how the insanity of writing the novel was going. 29 people joined in and though I failed to get in and comment on everyone’s post because, well, #NaNoWriMo, I was so ecstatic every time a new person linked up.  You guys make this so much fun!

DECEMBER

  • Part Three: It Is Written – And here we are at last! We have written words (and possibly lost our sanity, okay definitely did) and now we can share allllll about how it went!

To sum it up: For three months, I throw ten novel/writing-related questions your way, you can take the questions and answer them on your own blog, and then share your link in the linkup I’ll attach below so others can read about your delicious novel-y goodness!

QUICK NOTE: I am doing this during National Novel Writing Month season since, ya know, a lot of us did NaNo. BUT. You DO NOT have to be doing NaNoWriMo to participate. You can answer these questions for any WIP you have. It’s all just for fun and to help us share and encourage one another in all our writerly endeavors. And I just absolutely love seeing what my dear peeps are working on!

Here’s the final list of questions!

KNOW THE NOVEL PART THREE:
IT IS WRITTEN

I’d be honored if you used the graphic above for your own posts, but it’s certainly not required!

THE QUESTIONS

1. Firstly, how did writing this novel go all around?

2. Did it turn out like you expected or completely different? And how do you feel about the outcome?

3. What aspect of the story did you love writing about the most? (Characters, plot, setting, prose, etc.)

4. How about your least favorite part?

5. What do you feel like needs the most work?

6. How do you feel about your characters now that the novel is done? Who’s your favorite? Least favorite? Anyone surprise you? Give us all the details!

7. What’s your next plan of action with this novel?

8. If you could have your greatest dream realized for this novel, what would it be?

9. Share some of your favorite snippets!

10. Did you glean any new writing and/or life lessons from writing this novel?

SHARE YOUR LINK

Now for the important bit, ADDING YOU LINK! Do be sure to use the widget below to link to your post so others can check it out!

Part Three of the linkup closes at midnight on December 31st. BUT do feel free to take these questions and answer them any time!

GUYS. It’s the end of NaNo. I just can’t get over it. It simultaneously feels like it’s been NaNo foreverrrr and for like just two days. It’s always the fastest/quickest month of the year. Idon’tevenknow. BUT I LOVE IT. And, oh man, my tenth NaNo proved to be an absolutely delightful one. Sadly, I did not finish my book by the end of the month, but I got sooo close. I’m still plugging away at it and hope to finish it within the next few days and I’M EXCITED.

Stay tuned for my full NaNo recap next Monday! But but but GUYS.

WE MADE IT TO DECEMBER!!!

LET’S TALK!

WHO IS SHOCKED NANO IS OVER??? I’d love to hear how it went for you! I saw so many of you accomplish AMAZING feats and I’m so very proud of all my epic frens! <3 If you didn’t do NaNo, how was your November? Who’s excited it’s DECEMBER? *flails hand in the air* MEEEE!!!

It’s December… CHRISTMAS SEASON!! And plus I’m having the time of my life writing my non-NaNo-novel. This December I’m also writing a Christmas-themed short story just because I really can’t help but enjoy the atmosphere and write it into a story 😛 For this 3rd part of the linkup I think I’ll ramble about my other project! 😀

Yayyy for part 3!! I don’t think I did all three parts last year (although I can’t remember which one I skipped– I think it was part 2), so I’m excited to actually be doing all of them. ;D

I’m in this weird state of “Oh… NaNo happened? When was that?” xD It took over so much of my life for 21 days and then I just completely STOPPED writing because I was SO exhausted… so now it feels like a dream. Hehe. I’m hoping to get back into writing in the next couple days, though, and maybe finish my book this month. *crosses fingers*

I’M EXCITED IT’S DECEMBER! *flails with you* Huzzah for all the Christmasy things!! I’m in the process of decorating my room and it makes me so happy. xD
