A most happy December! I cannot believe we’ve made it to the final month of 2025. With writing events coming to a close, along with the year itself, now is the perfect time to look back on our accomplishments and continue to dream forward.
Whether you’ve been pounding away at a novel for the past month or so or have a WIP that’s been in the works throughout the year, this final set of Know the Novel questions is a great chance to reflect on all that you’ve produced.
Onward to Part Three!

KNOW THE NOVEL

What is Know the Novel?
Know the Novel is a 3-part tag for writers, one for each of these last three months of the year. Each part features ten questions you can answer on your own blog, in your newsletter, on your social media, or just for yourself! The questions focus on different parts of your novel and how the writing is progressing.
The tags go as follows:
OCTOBER
- Part One: Introduce Your WIP – In which we gave exciting peeks at our upcoming WIPs! You can find everyone’s links HERE.
NOVEMBER
- Part Two: Within the WIP – Last month, we pulled back the curtains and gave our readers a glimpse into the writing cave as we busily wrote out stories. See all the posts HERE!
DECEMBER
- Part Three: Words Written – December at last! This month’s questions give us a chance to reveal how the writing went, share some snippets, and see what’s next. Continue on for the questions!
In Summary…
You can take the questions, answer them on your own social media platform of choice, and share your link in the linkup attached below so others can read about your novel-writing adventure. Super simple and fun!
IMPORTANT NOTE: This linkup is open to any WIPs you have. Whether you did a writing challenge or wrote within your own time, it matters not! The point here is to just have fun and get a chance to share about your writing with others. You also by no means had to have joined in the previous linkups to do this one. Take any and all questions at any point in time. I would certainly be grateful for credit, but otherwise, there are basically no rules here. It’s simply for fun and to provide an easy way to keep your readers updated on your writing!

7. What’s your next plan of action with this novel?
8. If you could have your greatest dream realized for this novel, what would it be?
9. Share some of your favorite snippets!

Part 3 of the linkup closes at midnight on December 31st. But absolutely feel free to answer these questions (or the questions in the previous linkups) ANY TIME! They’re free for the taking!

Thank you to everyone who participated in Know the Novel! Joining in, reading posts, cheering each other on—it brings me such joy every single year. I’m so looking forward to this final round of posts!
I am truly astounded that we’ve reached the final month of the year. Whatever this year has looked like for you, I hope you remember that nothing is wasted, every bit adds up, and it all deserves to be celebrated.
Your words matter, friends.

Who here is shocked that it’s DECEMBER? How was your November? Are you looking forward to this month? Do you have any writing endeavors in the works or are you taking a break for the Christmas season? What’s been your FAVORITE creative thing you’ve done for 2025?

I had a lot of fun doing the tag (and FicFrenzy) thank you for hosting it!
