About Me
Hello! I’m Christine Smith, fantasy writer, book hoarder, and cat lover, who is unashamedly passionate about stories.
From as early as I can remember, I was devouring books and soaking in stories. When I was 9 years old, I decided to try my hand at creating a novel of my own, and I’ve never looked back. I believe stories shape lives, provide endless experiences, expand our viewpoint, and offer hope in a world that is ever trying to snuff out the light.
The stories I pen are not afraid to delve into that darkness, but always to thread light within and scatter back the shadows. Fairy tales, fantasy, unique worlds, sacrifice, twisty plots, and messy people rising from the ashes are woven throughout my words. I am currently pursuing publishing, so if this sounds up your alley, I hope you’ll stick around.
Beyond storytelling, my other great passion is encouraging other storytellers and creatives of all types to pursue their creative endeavors with abandon. As someone with a congenital heart defect that has severely limited my abilities my whole life, I understand the difficulties of navigating life’s needs alongside creative pursuits. But I also know, deeply, how impactful beauty can be in this hard, tiring life. I firmly believe we are meant to create, and even as the road is challenging, it is always worth taking.
I offer coaching services to writers seeking to find balance in their writing pursuits, delve deeper into the heart of their stories, and uncover that spark of joy for storytelling so that it continues to shine.
I also founded the Fiction Frenzy Writing Challenge a.k.a FicFrenzy, a Discord group offering seasonal month-long writing events and a space for writers to gather together and share the journey of writing.
I am a thirty-something ENFJ (where are my fellow MBTI nerds?), adore Studio Ghibli, am an unashamed cat lover (let me pet all the kitties, pleaseandthankyou), total roleplaying geek, collect way more books than I will ever have time to read (as one does), love heart talks with people, and am beyond grateful for Jesus’ unfailing love, light, and hope, no matter the hardships.
