That Evil Practice Known as Editing

We write and write and write, working so hard, long hours, days on end, sleepless nights, much coffee consumption, and then it is finally over… Or is it? After working on a long book, there is no better feeling than finishing it. Something I rarely do but get so much pleasure out of it once it is done. I feel like celebrating, telling everyone I know, jumping up and down and squealing a little…then a realization comes to me that brings me back to my feet, painfully. Editing. Oh editing, I hate it. Writing is so much fun, but then…

My Grand Adventure of Writing

You have probably already figured this out, but I love to write! This blog will probably be a lot about my writing. I might sometimes post something about my characters, perhaps a sentence from my stories here and there, update on what I am writing or editing, give excerpts or a synopsis occasionally. Who knows? So I thought I’d post about the beginnings of my writing to now and what I like to write about. I figured it would be good to post about my writing first before delving into all that. Also, I thought if I update my blog…

Navi – My Beloved

I am a terrible blogger, I really am. You actually have to blog if you are going to have a blog and I have only made three posts since I made this in March. I need to do better. I shall try my best. So, on that note, I am going to blog about the love of my life: My Dog. Yep! I have a toy poodle named Navi (pronounced with a short A, not long like Navy). Navi is a grey female poodle who is spoiled to no bounds whom I love to death. We have always been dog…

Destruction and Light

I have felt really bad that I have not written anything in ages. I did not know what to write about. Well, I finally have something to write. And it is quite something. As you probably know, tornadoes have swept across a good bit of America causing destruction in their wake. Over 100 have hit, causing terrible havoc and damage. Entire neighborhoods are nothing but rubble now and many lives were lost. We had are own bit of destruction. Wednesday, April 27th, it was a somewhat stormy day, though I had no idea a great tornado was rushing towards us.…

Weekly Bible Verse Memorization

As you have probably noticed, I have a Bible Verse of the Week on the side bar. Each Monday I shall change it to a new one. Why am I pointing this out? Well, my little sister and I are going to memorize one verse from the Bible every week, and the verse I put on the side there will be the one we are currently memorizing. To anyone reading this or interested, I thought I would ask you to join us. Memorizing one verse a week is actually very simple and barely takes anytime at all to do. Plus,…

Hello Spring!

Today marks the first day of Spring! Spring has always been my favorite season, not too hot, not too cold. Everything starts to grow green again and the world is dappled in color as the flowers bloom and blossom. Even now I see bees out my window buzzing around doing their busy bee-like business (enough B’s for you?). It makes me smile. I love Spring because it gives me a sense of newness. Upon the trees, small green leaves are replacing the old with a freshness of life and protection and greenery to the land once they have grown. Buds…

The Elf’s First Musings

Hello to all those reading this!^_^ My name is Lauriloth and this is my first-ish blog; ‘ish,’ because I started a blog about 3 or 4 years ago and never did a thing with it. But this one is all new and fresh and I -hope- to actually use it! My biggest obsessions are elves (fantasy elves of course, not Christmas Elves :/), fantasy, Lord of the Rings, writing, reading, and the piano. But most of all Jesus Christ! I have a completely beloved little grey poodle named Navi (who is most spoiled), and a laptop whom I call Larry…
