Beautiful Books – Plottery Talk {October 2014}

You all probably know by now Beautiful People is like my favorite blogging thing ever. I get to answer a list of questions about my characters, which happens to be my favorite thing to talk about. Um, yes please! Well, the beautiful Beautiful People (yes, I just said that) hosts Sky and Cait decided to do something awesome for the next three months. Yes, Beautiful BOOKS. In honor of NaNoWriMo (which happens in less than a week? WHAAAT???) they’re doing a linkup revolving around our NaNo books (or any current WIP if you’re not doing NaNo). For this month they’re…

The NaNo ‘14 Cast

It’s that time of year again, peoples! Where that last smidgeon of sanity us writers have gets flung out the window and locked out for a month. That’s right, NaNoWriMo is coming! Which means October is NaNo-prep month. I’m a wee bit behind on my prepping this year, but I’m starting to get into the swing of things. It hasn’t been easy though, this year’s novel is being stubborn, but I’m starting to discover its secrets and pull a story out of it. As I know I’ve mentioned, every year of NaNo since my first in 2010 I write each…

Beautiful People – Visance {September 2014}

Oh, look at that, it’s a new month. Oh, look at that, it’s. . .halfway through an apparently not-so-new month. Well then. That’s right. New month means new Beautiful People, and per the Christine norm I’m late in jumping in the boat. But hey, it doesn’t leave the dock for another half a month, so not too late. Riiight? I believe you’ve got this down pat by now. Beautiful People is a writerly linkup by the oh-so fabulously fabulous Sky and Cait. Each month they give us 10 questions to answer about any character of ours. Useful and fun. What’s…

Christine’s Writing Life – The Writing Process Tour

One of my bestest besties Celti/Deborah from The Road of a Writer passed a tag my way, which I am quite ecstatic about. I’ve seen this tag floating around and thought it looked spectacular. I’m so excited I’ve been given the opportunity to participate. Thank you, Celti dear, you’re the best! <3 Also, everyone go to her blog. Yes, now. She is a delightful human being and basically the best. So go, enjoy her charm. Now then. This tag, as its name suggests, basically focuses on the life of us crazy writers and how we go about *le gasp* writing!…

More Green than Envy Snippets

How has everyone’s December been so far? Don’t you just love December! I thought since basically for two months or so now I’ve been rattling on about nothing but NaNoWriMo and More Green than Envy, the novel I wrote for it, I should post some snippets from it now. Maybe. . . Oh, sure! Why not? So, without further ado. . . Snippets! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Leiden began pacing back and forth. His chains clattered loudly as they rubbed across the rough stone ground. Darven clenched his teeth together. "Will you just sit down?" he snapped. "Is it possible for you to…

More Green than Envy – NaNo ‘13

Can we just take a moment to acknowledge the closeness of NaNoWriMo? *noises of panic resound* Ahem. Better yet, let’s not. Well, over the last two weeks I’ve introduced my main characters, Leiden and Darven, the ones I shall be typing madly over for the entirety of November. Now we know who I’m writing about, but exactly what am I writing for NaNo? Well, when I first participated back in 2010 I started the first book of a series about dragon riders. Ever since, I write each book of that series for each NaNo. This being my 4th NaNo I…

Beautiful People – Darven

In last week's post I was talking about how I’m working on developing my two main character for my novel, More Green than Envy, for this year’s NaNoWriMo. Last week I did a Beautiful People for my elf, Leiden. This week I’m doing the same for my other MC, Darven Morshar. Darven is just about as opposite from Leiden as a person can get. He’s a recluse fellow, not having much to do with people. He gets easily annoyed (especially with overly energetic, talkative people. . .like Leiden *cough*). His life hasn’t been an easy one, making it where he…

Beautiful People – Leiden

NaNoWriMo is approaching, people! Like… almost 3 weeks away approaching! *gasp* Currently I’m working on planning my NaNo novel, More Green than Envy (or trying, it’s kind of been a crazy week). In preparation I’m working on my two main characters. I think I write better when I know my characters pretty well. So, one of the best ways to discover one’s characters is Beautiful People. It always helps so much! Today I’m doing Leiden Irethen. Leiden is a young, male elf with far too much energy. He’s the jester of the group and a just all around fun guy.…

Sunday Night’s Escapade

It was 9:30 at night and even though I was exhausted from a busy day, I got in my head I just head to finish it. Grabbing my laptop and putting on headphones, I snuggled into bed and opened the word document. Just half a chapter more and I would be done. I could do that and then probably be in bed by 12. That wasn’t too bad. 11 o’clock. . . “I’m getting there! This is totally happening!” 11:30. . . “Oh. . .half an hour until midnight? Well, maybe I can still do it. I’ve come this far.”…

Story Snippets

Due to a cold I’ve caught this week, I’m going to cheat a little bit and post some snippets from a few choice books of mine, because I don’t think anyone wants to have to read something I write while I have a cold…it’d be very incoherent, trust me. Then again, I don’t know if anyone wants to read anything I’ve written at any time… But I try to post once a week and I just hated to miss a week, cold or not, so snippets it is. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ More Blue than Sky (Colors of a Dragon Scale Series)    …
