A most happy February, my friends! I have some news that has taken every bit of willpower to not shout to the rooftops until today. But the day has at last come in which I can reveal it to you!
Being as how it’s blatantly in both the title and banner right there, you can probably guess what it is. But do humor me for a moment…

I HAVE LAUNCHED AN EMAIL NEWSLETTER!
Remember last week me mentioning I had something exciting to announce? YEP. This is it! And, let me tell you, I am psyched.
Confession: I have been meaning to create a mailing list for, um, years now. Each year I had hoped to take the plunge and then it just…kept not happening. But 2022 is the year! I delved into this year with high hopes and many dreams and aspirations, and creating a newsletter was one of the tippity top ones. And it has finally happened!
Having a newsletter is one of the best ways to reach out and personally connect with people, and I’m so very happy to officially have one in place.

What Will You Find In My Newsletter?
This will be a monthly newsletter, coming to your inbox near the beginning of every month, sharing things such as the books I’ve been reading, TV shows and movies and any other such entertainment I’ve been enjoying, writing updates, and the occasional encouragement or heart talk on life, faith, writing, and everything in between. Think of it like a personal letter from me each month as I share the goings-on of life, with plenty of book recommendations and writing talk to be had!
There may be the occasional extra message if I have something particularly exciting to share, but in general it will simply be one email a month.
ALSO. Lately I’ve been more closeted about the WIPs I’ve been working on and things. I mentioned in my last couple of posts how it’s been freeing not publicly sharing about all my writing projects and goals. But there is also something so very motivating about having a support team behind you as you reach toward your dreams. And so I’ve decided to have the best of both worlds!
Here on the blog I may be slightly quieter about my current writing projects. But if you sign up for my newsletter, you will receive an exclusive sneakity peek into my writing life! In each newsletter I hope to share more about my WIPs, the goals I’m working toward, the ups and downs of the writing life, annnd maybe the occasional snippet or two. Like sitting at a coffee shop with friends, my newsletter will be a little slice of life chatter.
And I would be so honored to have you along for the ride.
BUT WAIT. There’s more! Because this newsletter certainly isn’t just about me. It’s about community. About gathering together and sharing this journey of life. And for that I have something extra, extra special for all my newsletter subscribers…
A Special Discord Server for Subscribers!
I have created an exclusive Discord server as a special space for my newsletter subscribers only!
The server is called The Mad Tea Party and, like the name suggests, there is an infinite amount of (virtual) refreshments, good company to be had, and plenty of delightful madness. There we can chat about life, fandoms, books, writing, pray for each other, share encouragement, play games, and just in general have a safe and fun corner to gather together.
If you’ve been wanting a place to hang out with like-minded individuals to talk about writing and books and ask for beta-readers and other such help or seek out encouragement or just have a space to be random and talk about anything and everything under the sun, then that is what I hope this server can be for you. I am so very excited to open it up and have somewhere to be able to connect with all my dear peeps more personally. There may even be video chats and watch parties and book clubs and RPGing. The sky’s the limit here! It’ll be like an unending sleepover party where we can pop in and out whenever we want to hang out and chat and simply enjoy being together.
If this sounds like something you want to be a part of, it is 100% open to all my newsletter subscribers!
NOTE: Just know, there is absolutely no pressure to join the Discord server if that’s not your thing. It is simply there for any newsletter subscribers who want to join. If you want to simply read my newsletter and not be part of the Discord server, that is 100% fine.

Simply fill in the form below, check your inbox for a confirmation email, click the button in said email, and TA-DA! My monthly updates shall appear in your inbox near the beginning of each month like magic. The confirmation email will also have instructions on how to join the Discord server if that’s something you want to do.

ANOTHER NOTE: Being subscribed to my blog is completely different from my newsletter. They’re entirely separate entities.
Speaking of my blog… For a bit there I went back to posting every Monday, but as I’m settling into a more regular schedule, I’ll be posting mostly every other Monday again. But these newsletters will more or less be like blog posts in and of themselves, plus I’m quite active on Instagram. So even if I’m not constantly posting here, there are still plenty of ways to find me! But no fears, my dear ol’ blog will still have plenty of content to come and I am looking forward to it!
I am absolutely ecstatic to dive into 2022 with this new endeavor. I feel so beyond thankful to have such a supportive community, and I know having a special way to more deeply connect with you all is going to be a huge blessing.

Christine, does the email confirming the subscription get sent out immediately? If it does, then the sidebar accidentally clips the email addresses, as they are long. Could you perhaps fix it if it is the problem? (I’m waiting to re-subscribe if I need to until after you get back to me 😉 )

But oh dear! I have noticed the sign up form on the sidebar cuts off long email addresses. The full address is actually still there though, it’s just a little wonky. But if you highlight the text of your address, it’ll scroll over and show all of it. Have you clicked subscribe yet and it didn’t work? I’ve tried subscribing via the sidebar sign up form and it worked for me, despite it being a little glitchy about making long text disappear. So I’d try it again if you could, and if it doesn’t send you a confirmation email let me know! Because yeah, it’s supposed to send the confirmation email right away. It could have went to your spam folder though, so you may want to check there.
But yes, definitely let me know if you’re still having trouble!

And absolutely no worries about the Discord server. I’ve only started actively using it myself in the past year. It’s a pretty cool thing though! It’s basically like having your own private internet forum, where you can invite friends and chat. Sort of like instant messaging, but with more options and features. It’s fun! But I tend to avoid adding yet more social media things on my plate, so I totally understand you!

That is no problem about Discord. Completely understandable. It wasn’t until really the last year or two that I started using it actively. It’s a pretty neat thing though. It’s basically like instant message and an internet forum smushed together? Except it’s like your own private forum/instant messaging space for just people you invite. But yeah, there is ZERO pressure to join and you are 100% welcome to ask for an invite literally ANY time!
