{COVER REVEAL} Spindle Dreams by Kirsten Fichter

Hello, my lovely elflings! Happy August! GUESS WHO HAS RETURNED??? On a random Thursday, I  know, but I have something special to show you today!

My goodness, it feels like it’s been an age and a half since I’ve last blogged. July was both insanely fast and yet felt like a lifetime. I DON’T EVEN KNOW. But I am easing (and by that I mean crashing awkwardly) back into blogging and social media and all that goodness.

In case you’re wondering, yes I DO have a Realm Makers recap post coming. And yes, it WAS magical and fabulous and I cannot waaaait to tell you all about it. But, erm, we’ll have to wait a little bit because I’m still processing it all and getting my thoughts together and my life together. But don’t fear, I should have a big ol’ recap in a couple of weeks!

But today we’re not here to talk about RM. Todaaaay we’re here because I have a COVER REVEAL TO…reveal! (I’m so eloquent.)

Guys, I cannot even express how utterly ecstatic I am about this book coming out. This is like bounce on the walls, scream on the rooftops, explode social media kind of excitement.

Many of you probably know Kirsten Fichter (or Kiri Liz as I fondly know her as)—awesome blogger, fellow fairy tale nerd, Disney enthusiast, creator of gorgeous and witty stories, and probably secretly a unicorn.

WELL.

SHE HAS A NEW BOOK COMING OOOUUUUTTTT!!!!!!!

Which is why I am here on this random Thursday. Because we’ve got a cover, guys! And all the information you need. *SQUEALS*

THE INFO

Kirsten’s first story, The Rose and the Balloon, was a super fun and epic Beauty and the Beast retelling (my faaaave) novella. I reviewed it a long while back (for all you curious book dragons). That was the first story in her Once Upon a Twist Tales series, which will be a string of novellas set in the same world but telling different stories, and all fairy tale retellings! YASSS. And here’s the fun part, these are all slightly steampunk, non-magical stories! Pulling off certain fairy tales without any magic takes talent, and, let me tell ya, Kirsten knows how to do it.

Well, the next Once Upon a Twist Tales novella is almost heeere! And this go round it’s…

*drum rolllll*

A Sleeping Beauty retelling!

What’s that? Oh. You want to actually know what it’s called…and about…and most importantly what does the cover look like??? Bwahahaha. Okay, okay. I’m done torturing you. On to the juicy bit!

Heeeere…

We…

GOOOOO!!!

THE BOOK

Marita Kadlec is the only daughter of Rohesia’s poorest – and laziest – weaver. Her father prefers to spend his days gambling in the tavern, leaving the spinning up to Marita. She hates the family business because she’s constantly pricking her finger on the spindle. She’d much rather be tinkering on an invention that she hasn’t had the courage to show anyone yet. A special invention that will rid her of spinning for the rest of her life.

Felix is a young nobleman plagued with the same nightmare – a giant machine, twisting and clanking, shrouded in fire, bent on pain and death. He’s determined to find out what it means, no matter where the answers may lead him.

This is Sleeping Beauty with a twist like you’ve never seen it before.

Add it on GoodReads!

THE AUTHOR

Kirsten Fichter is a twenty-something Christian writer who loves being the wife to her favorite person ever, mommy to the most precious blessing, a piano enthusiast, a dragon buff, a serious bookworm, and an INFP synesthete. Fairytales have always fascinated her, and she has made it her goal to rewrite as many as possible and become known as the “Grimm Dickens” (i.e. mixing Grimm fairytales with a Dickens style). She is present in many online circles under the name “Kiri Liz” if you care about things like that. As you read this, she’ll be somewhere under a maple tree – trying very hard to finish the seventeen and half other stories she unwisely started all at once.

Absolutely delightful, yes? And I maaay have already gotten to read it. *cough, cough* Let’s just say you guys are gonna want this one. *grins*

And, just so you know, you do NOT in any way have to read The Rose and the Balloon in order to read this one. They are both completely standalone. For you who have read TRatB, you’ll find some fabulous cameos. But it’s still very much its own characters and story.

Oh wait. One more little important piece of info. When does this release so we can all get our hands on a gorgeous copy???

Spindle Dreams releases…

AUGUST 9TH!!!

Almost a week away! *SCREAMS*

And stay tuned, because I have a proper book review coming your way! SO EXCITED.

One last bit of fairy tale news. A new month (how is it August anyway???) means a new featured fairy tale over on Fairy Tale Central! Sooo if you’re curious what we’ve got cooked up for this last full month of summer, you can head over to the site and see! (Though I totally slipped in a gif in this post that goes along with the featured fairy tale because I’m sneaky like that mwahaha.)

LET’S TALK!

Who is so utterly pumped about this??? (I am, if you couldn’t tell. Kirsten writes the best stories.) Can we just take a minute to drool over the cover? I love how it feels both beautiful and dangerous. Yesss please. Have you added this to your TBR yet??? Because YOU NEED TO! Also, HOW ARE YOU??? I’ve been gone too long. I’ve missed you all! Tell me, how was your July?

“Probably secretly a unicorn.” <— THAT JUST MADE MY DAY! I never really thought about myself as a unicorn, but I can see it. 😀

I don't know if it's possible for me to read any of your posts without cracking into a huge grin. Like, for the whole post. I think my face is permanently busted now, Christine. It just means so much to know that people are excited about the things that I write. It's just little, 'ole me over here, trying to string words together, and somehow… those words made people happy. And if that's not the perfect job description, I don't know what is.
